The Bank of Cadiz was chartered April 22, 1970 and opened for business on August 7, 1970 in a temporary location at Main and Brown Streets in Cadiz, Trigg County, Kentucky. Some 200 shareholders invested in the bank after being organized by George Bleidt, William E. Fuller, John O. Hill, T. Lacy Jones, Vance Leneave, Willard Lester, Boyd Thomas, M.W. “Chuck” Thomas, Roger Thomas, Ross Thomas and others.
Under the leadership of Mr. William E. Fuller and Mr. Kenneth Guinn, the bank moved into new modern facilities at 79 Main Street in November, 1970. This facility continues to serve as the bank’s main office. Full banking services were offered, including two drive-in lanes.
Other significant changes are:
1978 – Trust powers were obtained and a Trust Department was organized and the bank’s name was changed to the Bank of Cadiz and Trust Company.
1988 – A new four-lane drive-in branch was opened in the adjoining block.
1988 – A holding company, Cadiz Bancorp, Inc., was formed to assure the bank’s existence as a locally owned, independent banking organization.
1980s – A new Automated Teller Machine was introduced, providing the bank’s customers’ 24-hour access to their accounts seven days a week.
2001 – Due to ever increasing customer volume, a new full service branch at 106 Lakota Drive opened. Lakota Drive is a full service branch with a five-lane drive-up and Automated Teller Machine.
2004 – The bank ventured into neighboring Hopkinsville with the addition of a new Loan Production Office, located at 2703 Fort Campbell Boulevard. Since then, a new full service branch has been established across the street at 2808 Fort Campbell Boulevard.
2006 – The bank was converted to a Sub-Chapter S organization for tax purposes and positioned to continue as an independently owned institution.
2007 – A year of change internally for the bank. Imaging and electronic processing was installed to take advantage of efficiencies of “Check 21” instituted by the Federal Reserve Bank.
2008 – A full service branch opened in March at 630 North 12th Street in Murray, Ky. This provides the bank with locations where most of our customers live, work and shop.
2016 – A new building was constructed for the Murray location. The new building is located at 307 North 12th Street.

It is the policy of the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Co. (the “Bank”) to make you aware of our business continuity plans in case of an emergency. The Bank’s plans are designed to ensure that our operations will continue to function with little or no disruption, that our customers’ accounts will be secure and accessible, and that our customers will be able to reach us regardless of the scope of the situation or event. The Bank has developed a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) with respect to how we will respond to events that significantly disrupt our operations. Our BCP was designed to be flexible in responding to actual events as they occur, since the timing and impact of disasters and disruptions is unpredictable. With that in mind, we are providing you with this information.
Contacting Us. Should one of our branch or facility locations be affected we will move the operations to our alternate location where we are able to serve our customers as effectively as possible. Calls to the affected location will be re-routed to the alternate location where we have access to all of the same systems to serve you. In the event of a prolonged disruption to one of our branch or facility locations, our BCP provides for more permanent relocation of staff to an alternate location, where we will continue to provide the best service possible. If you cannot access us through our telephone lines, our website will be updated with further information at https://www.bankofcadiz.com.
Business Continuity Plan. It is the policy of the Bank to quickly recover and resume business operations after a significant business disruption and respond by safeguarding our employees and property, making a financial and operational assessment, protecting the Bank’s books and records, and allowing our customers to transact business. Our BCP is designed to permit us to resume operations as quickly as possible, given the scope and severity of the significant business disruption.
Our BCP addresses; data back up and recovery; all mission critical systems; financial and operational assessments; alternative communications with customers, employees, and regulators; alternate physical location of employees; critical supplier, contractor, and counter-party impact; regulatory reporting; and assuring our customers prompt access to their accounts if we are unable to continue our operations.
We back up and/or store our important records in a geographically separate area. While every emergency situation poses unique problems based on external factors, such as time of day and the severity of the disruption, the objective is to restore our operations and be able to complete existing transactions and accept new transactions as soon as possible. Your transactions could be delayed during this period.
Varying Disruptions. Significant business disruptions can vary in scope, such as a single office or facility, the immediate area where more than one office or facility is located, the city where we are located, or the whole region. Within each of these areas, the severity of the disruption can also vary from minimal to severe. In a disruption where only a single location is affected, we will transfer our operations to a location when appropriate and expect to recover and resume operations as soon as possible. In a disruption affecting multiple offices or facilities such as a city or region, we will transfer our operations to a location outside of the affected area, and recover and resume operations as soon as possible. In either situation, we plan to continue in business, and will notify you through our web site at https://www.bankofcadiz.com. All telephone calls placed to our main line will be forwarded to our alternate location if telephone service has not been interrupted.
Additional Information: Please contact us by telephone at (270) 522-6066 or by e-mail at info@bankofcadiz.com if you have questions about the Bank’s Business Continuity Plan.
Important Information About Procedures For Opening A New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, federal law prohibits us from waiving these requirements.
Under the Federal Community Re-investment Act (CRA), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) evaluates our record of helping to meet the credit needs of this community consistent with safe and sound operations. The FDIC also takes this record into account when deciding on certain applications submitted by us.
Your involvement is encouraged.
You are entitled to certain information about our operations and our performance under the CRA. You may review today the public section of our most recent CRA evaluation, prepared by the FDIC, and a list of services provided at this branch. You may also have access to the following additional information, which we will make available to you at this branch within five calendar days after you make a request to us: (1) a map showing the assessment area containing this branch, which is the area in which the FDIC evaluates our CRA performance in this community; (2) information about our branches in this assessment area; (3) a list services we provide at those locations; (4) data on our lending performance in this assessment area; and (5) copies of all written comments received by us that specifically relate to our CRA performance in this assessment area, and any responses we have made to those comments. If we are operating under an approved strategic plan, you may also have access to a copy of the plan.
[If you would like to review the information about our CRA performance in other communities served by us, the public file for our entire bank is available at the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company’s Main Office located at 79 Main Street, Cadiz KY 42211.]
At least 30 days before the beginning of each quarter, the FDIC published a nationwide list of the banks that are scheduled for CRA examination in that quarter. This list is available from the Regional Manager, Division of Supervision and Consumer Protection, FDIC, 300 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 1700, Chicago, IL 60606. You may send written comments about our performance in helping to meet community credit needs to: Donald Leibee, Bank of Cadiz & Trust Company, P.O. Box 2020, Cadiz, KY 42211-2020 and the FDIC Regional Manager. Your letter, together with any response by us, will be considered by the FDIC in evaluating our CRA performance and may be made public.
You may ask to look at any comments received by the FDIC Regional Manager. You may also request from the FDIC Regional Manager an announcement of our applications covered by the CRA filed with the FDIC. We are an affiliate of Cadiz Bancorp, Inc., a bank holding company. You may request from the Officer in Charge of Supervision, Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, P.O. Box 442, St. Louis, Missouri 63166, an announcement of applications covered by the CRA filed by bank holding companies.
Our general policy is to allow you to withdraw funds deposited in your account on the first business day after the day we receive your deposit. Funds from electronic direct deposits will be available on the day we receive the deposit. In some cases, we may delay your ability to withdraw funds beyond the first business day. Then, the funds will generally be available by the fifth business day after the day of deposit.
